We are a group of NRA Certified Instructors, Coaches, Range Safety Officers and shooting enthusiasts promoting gun safety and shooting sports for the youth of Clark County. We are sanctioned by the CMP (Civilian Marksmanship Program) and the NRA (National Rifle Association). We follow the Winchester/NRA Marksmanship Qualification Program.
We offer a number of NRA classes to help educate and teach you how to shoot or be better at it. Take a look at our training page for information on classes available. A list of our training and range days is available on our calendar.
If you haven’t already joined Silver State Shooting Sport Association, you need to do this to get the proper insurance for your child. If you do not join, we have to turn you away after the second shoot. If you would like to continue shooting with us after your first visit, please be sure to join the association.
To join the Silver State Sport Shooting Association (SSSSA), annual dues of $15.00 per youth shooter or $40.00 per family are required.
The range fees are $10.00 per Shooter per day. Please arrive early to provide time to sign in. Separate waivers are required for each facility. To receive the rocker and/or medals with each achievement, the additional fee is $5.00, except for distinguished expert, which is $17.50.
We shoot at the Clark County Shooting Park. More information can be found here:
We send out a notification email at the beginning of the months in which we are shooting. We would like to know ahead of time how many shooters will be there so that we have enough instructors. Please notify us as far in advance as possible at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Stance, grip and sight picture will all be taught by an NRA Certified Instructor.
What to bring:
We provide hearing and eye protection for the shooters ONLY. Parents or other family members wishing to watch their child shoot are required to bring their own protection for our events. We recommend long pants, over the calf socks, long sleeve shirt or jacket and a baseball cap.
Please bring extra water and sunscreen to the range with you.
Upon entering the classrooms, all shooters must sign in and pay their range fees ($15.00 per shooter, if attending class). Please make yourself a name tag with the labels and marker provided. If you are a first time shooter, please stay in the classroom. If you have shot with us before and already attended the class, please proceed to the range. After shooting is completed, you will be notified if you have earned a higher designation. If you choose to purchase the rocker and medal, the additional fees ($5.00 for each level except Distinguished Expert, which is $17.50) will be collected at that time.
Notes regarding the facilities: We shoot rain or shine!
We typically hold events at the Clark County Shooting Park on the third weekend of the month. Please check our Calendar to verify dates. We do not hold events on holiday weekends.
We utilize the Education Building at the Clark County Shooting Park. It is currently the furthest northeast building in the facility. The easiest directions, upon entering the park, is to stay to the right until the road ends. You must take the road all the way around to reach the Hunter Education Building.
Please stay off of the brushed rocks! Please stay on the concrete walking and shooting areas. The CCSP takes great pride in their landscaping and we ask you to please respect that.
Please note that seats are not provided. If you are coming to watch, please bring a folding chair or be prepared to stand. Eye and hearing protection are required. We provide eye and hearing protection for the shooter, but anybody else will have to bring their own.
